Spiritual Directors, I will be presenting on St. Teresa of Avila, May 21st at St. Raphaela’s Retreat Center! Reach out for details!

Leigh A. Murray

Welcome! I’m so glad

you found your way here.

I look forward to meeting you.

Do you feel a longing to nourish your soul?

If so, let’s find a way to sit, listen and be in communion together.

It is my honor to accompany people, from any spiritual path, on their interior journey to know themselves and their relationship with the Divine.  The journey inward is one that calls for the loving presence of a guide or companion.  Through deep listening and gentle support, a spiritual director or companion can ease, clarify, and illuminate the internal journey to wholeness. The nourishment that feeds the soul in this kind of deep soul work is like no other.  We truly dip into the living waters that sustain our very being.  We do this together, in a way that will allow you to feel empowered, safe and fully supported.  Perhaps this is what you are searching for…

I am excited about what I am offering this year, and perhaps something resonates for you. In response to requests for foundational practice programs, I have a created a new course, The Interior Castle: Foundational Practice Building. In this course, we introduce and practice foundational practices such as Lectio Divina, Prayer, Meditation, Contemplation and Imaginative Prayer as presented through the view of the Christian Mystics. We focus primarily on the teachings of Saint Teresa of Ávila but also include Saint John of the Cross, Saint Ignatius and others. This will be offered in the Fall, so be sure to sign up when registration begins. This course is for anyone that has a sincere desire to practice and learn all forms of prayer.

I am also very pleased to announce that I am now certified as a director of the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises and will be taking on new retreatants in September. Please reach out if you are interested. I am happy to discuss what is involved and help with the discernment process.

I pray that you have had a joyful and safe summer and are now looking forward to falling deeply into fall. For me, the fall is the season of returning to the internal workings of the soul through deeper practice and prayer. A call to find more silence, stillness and listen more intently to the voice of spirit that moves through us all. I would be so grateful to have you join me in this quest to know oneself in the most intimate of ways. Let me know if you want to connect, register, or have questions.

A Contemplative Journey

Embark on Your Contemplative Journey

Saint Teresa of Ávila‎ was a Carmelite nun and prominent Spanish Mystic.  Her spiritual masterpiece, The Interior Castle, offers us a map of how to move deep within ourselves to find our divine center, drawing into union with our Beloved.  Join me, for an immersive experiential journey to explore the teachings found in The Interior Castle. The intention is to allow you to deep-dive into your own interior castle (soul) to experience Saint Teresa’s teachings in your own unique way.  Perhaps you will even get in touch with your inner mystic!

This year I will be offering three options to participate in the teachings of Saint Teresa of Ávila. For the first time, I will be offering a foundational practice building course that is the perfect precursor to the contemplative journey. And, for those that have completed the contemplative journey there is now an option to go deeper into the more esoteric teachings of the upper mansions…

SPIRITUAL DIRECTION

An Individual Journey

Embark on a Contemplative Journey to Nourish Your Soul

Together, we will sit in deep, sacred space and follow where the spirit leads. These sessions are an opportunity to slow things down and drop into the spacious quiet that lies beneath the hustle and bustle of life.  We will draw into a contemplative state and become attentive to how the divine is moving in you and your life.  The spirit directs.  We notice and discuss.

A Guided Retreat

 An Ignatian Adventure Awaits You

St. Ignatius of Loyola created the 19th Annotation of the Spiritual Exercises so that everyday people can enter into this deep retreat while remaining engaged with their households and everyday lives.  It is structured in such a way as to allow you to dive deeply into the interior world of your soul from home.  This retreat is a 34-week commitment and usually requires discernment before entering the process.

We yearn for a soul-friend with whom we can share our desire for the Holy One and with whom we can try to identify and embrace the hints of divine Presence and Invitation in our lives.
Such soul-friends are sometimes called ‘spiritual directors’.
